Classroom Displays

As if we have to remind teachers it’s that time of year again, time for teachers to start getting their rooms ready for the return of the children for the new school year. Unlike many occupations where everything necessary to do a good job is provided the employee, for teachers, that is not always the case. Many teachers dig into their own pockets to buy supplies for their classroom that they feel they need and that their district cannot afford. In an effort to help those generous teachers that pay for supplies, decorations and teaching aids out of their own money, let’s discuss a few options for money saving display items that can readily be found online.

Much of the time teachers, do not have access to free materials as they did in the past. It used to be that when school districts ordered books from various companies, the companies included all sorts of free material such as maps and writing paper with the order. In the present economy, we find very little given for free. In response, teachers have had to be even more creative to properly teach.

A map of the US beautifully and permanently copied onto a 46”x 94” 5mm thick composite foam board to use year after year would be a real bargain at $45 for a geography teacher. If that is still too costly, perhaps the map on 5mm foam board for only $38 would be more attractive. Chemistry teachers would certainly find it useful to have a periodic chart of this size and quality hanging on the wall; students could see the table of elements from all over the room.

For teachers that enjoy displaying seasonal banners but have no wall space, choose between retractable stands, standing display stands or X-display stands. With the display stand on the floor, you do not have to worry about wall space any more. For as little as $18 for a desktop model on up to $175 for a 2-sided display stand; teachers will find that they can quite easily put up more decorative or informative banners than they imagined possible.

Online teachers can find any number of printer stores that print custom banners and posters. Be sure to use only a website that offers a satisfaction guarantee and shows the SSL (secure site) designation that guarantees security and privacy.

Another fine way to spruce up the classroom is with beautiful graphics on posters and banners to be hung around the room. Think how the kids will feel that first morning of school when they walk in the room to find a giant banner welcoming them back to school. For only $2.20 a square foot, you can order a beautiful, high resolution outdoor quality (very high quality, suitable for use indoors, heavy grommets) banner of your design.

Displays are an important teaching tool for any classroom. Regardless of whether a teacher is placing the order or whether it is a school district; the best prices and highest quality displays are found online.
